About Lorne Park Estates

A limited liability non-profit corporation without share capital.

It complies with the Ontario Corporation Act. It manages the LPEA assets, and administers Park activities within the legally defined Letters Patent, purpose, objectives, bylaws, and resolutions. LPEA is unlike a rate payers association.

For membership, you must own property in the Park and pay all fees approved by the LPEA membership. Houses and lots are private and used at the owners' discretion within the municipal bylaws. LPEA owns sizeable land assets around the houses and private lots. Members have the right to use the land owned by LPEA only as the bylaws and resolutions stipulate.

Facts & Stats

  • LPEA owns all roads, unopened road allowances, road rights of way, woods, lake frontage, beaches, water lots, central commons, and all structures on these lands.

  • Easements upon the lands allow electricity, street lights, natural gas, domestic water and fire water systems to be maintained by Mississauga and Peel authorities.

  • There is no common municipal sewer system.

  • 83 homes and about 80 acres with 42 acres of woodlands

  • 2500 feet of Lake Ontario shoreline

  • 220 species of birds

  • 300 different plants and wild flowers many animal species including fox and deer

  • 3 creek beds and marsh areas

  • About 3kms of foot paths

  • Tennis court, skating rink, fire pit, children's swings, playground gazebo, and lake promenade

Members assert independence regarding the use of their properties. We also try to minimize negatives from outside urbanization.

We are stewards of the natural environment and respect historical Park practices.

COLLABORATION

We enjoy working together on common activities with each person contributing their expertise as time and interest permits.

INFORMALITY

Simplicity and a minimum of formality is best. We adhere to a minimum of necessary rules and bureaucracy.
